It's footprint the same as other print and scan / copy devices
I was able to connect all PCs to the device pretty easily.
It has it's own USB device jack and a slot for SD cards.
It printed pretty fast over `g' wireless networking.
It does not require sharing a PC over the network (a security issue) and using that PC's attached printer.
It allowed for the use of a Windows XP machine and Windows 7 notebooks.
Because of the screen, it can show you, step-by-step, how to set it up, this is in addition to the CD setup instructions.
The touch screen was reliable and helpful, as opposed to having a lot of buttons.
CON
Used ink pretty quickly, compared with an HP Printer we have of similar design.
Once the color inks were out, it would not print wirelessly, but would print using a cable.
It seemed to not hold the settings for the wireless network for great lengths of time -- I suppose due to power loss or something that did not affect our other devices. Because of that, it might need to be on a UPS. The `Wi-Fi' light also stayed on, even though it was not connected or findable over the network.
I did not like the automatic two-sided feature, as most of the time, I prefer to print on one side of a sheet of paper. It winds up actually WASTING paper and ink if I need something on two sheets instead of one.
Bottom Line: May be worth your consideration but compare the value with a similar HP. Maybe HP Photosmart Premium All-in-One Printer (CD055A#ABA)

The 105XL cartridge can be modified to work with the S605.
The 100, 100XL and 105XL are all the SAME physical cartridge, just with different size ink fills.
The 105XL physically fits into the S605 with no modification. When installed, the printer says "unsupported ink cartridge." How does it know, seeing as it's just an ink well and not a print head? Under the label at the top is an RFID chip. All you have to do is swap the chip with an 100 or 100XL cartridge and the 105XL will work in your S605 printer. Happy printing!

I really like this printer, most of all the green mode which shuts it off and on when needed. The screen is very vivid. I recommend this printer.
